HeeHaw was a one-year-old miniature donkey, bottle-raised by Hannah Israel and her family at Elsberry Riding & Farm. He visited petting zoos and nursing homes. To him, people meant attention — not danger.

News reports, citing the family, say officers entered the pasture during an overnight search and HeeHaw was fatally shot after approaching while braying.
